Lakshmi Jayanti 2025 and the Blessings of the Goddess of Wealth

In Hinduism, Goddess Lakshmi is revered as the deity of wealth and prosperity. It is believed that those who receive her blessings will never face poverty in their lives. Lakshmi Jayanti, which falls during the Falgun month, is considered an especially auspicious time to seek the blessings of the Goddess for financial well-being.

Lakshmi Jayanti Muhurat

According to the Vedic Panchang, the full moon of Falgun month begins on March 13 at 10:35 AM and ends on March 14 at 12:23 PM. As per the auspicious Udaya Tithi, Lakshmi Jayanti will be celebrated on Holi, March 14, Friday.

Significance of Lakshmi Jayanti

Lakshmi Jayanti marks the day of Goddess Lakshmi’s emergence. It is believed that on the full moon of Falgun, during the churning of the Kshir Sagar (Ocean of Milk), Goddess Lakshmi appeared, bringing wealth and prosperity to the world.

Rituals on Lakshmi Jayanti

On Lakshmi Jayanti, many devotees perform Lakshmi Homam (Havan) at home. During the ceremony, the Lakshmi Sahasranama and Shri Sukta are recited, invoking the blessings of the Goddess. Additionally, a ritual offering of a lotus dipped in honey is made to seek her favor. This act is believed to invite Lakshmi’s blessings and help alleviate financial difficulties.

Mantras to Chant for Blessings

Lakshmi Beej Mantra:

ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं कमले कमलालये प्रसीद प्रसीद श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं ॐ महालक्ष्मी नमः।

Kuber Ashta Lakshmi Mantra:

ॐ ह्रीं श्रीं क्रीं श्रीं कुबेराय अष्ट-लक्ष्मी मम गृहे धनं पुरय पुरय नमः।

Lakshmi Gayatri Mantra:

ॐ महालक्ष्म्यै विद्महे विष्णुप्रियायै धीमहि। तन्नो लक्ष्मी प्रचोदयात्।

By observing these rituals and chanting the sacred mantras, devotees can invite the divine blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, leading to prosperity and an end to financial struggles.
