Varada Chaturthi 2026 on May 20: Don’t Miss This Powerful Ganesha Vrat to Remove Obstacles & Attract Prosperity

Varada Chaturthi will be observed on May 20, 2026 (Wednesday). This auspicious day is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the giver of success and prosperity.
According to the Hindu calendar, the Chaturthi Tithi begins on May 19, 2026, at 2:18 PM and ends on May 20, 2026, at 11:06 AM. The Madhyahna Puja Muhurat is from 10:56 AM to 11:06 AM, which is considered the most favorable time for Ganesha worship.
Varada Chaturthi holds even greater importance when it falls during Adhika Maas, a highly sacred month associated with Lord Vishnu. Worship performed during this time is believed to yield multiplied spiritual benefits.
The word “Varada” means “one who grants boons,” and on this day, Lord Ganesha is believed to fulfill the wishes of His devotees and remove all obstacles from their lives.
Devotees begin the day with a ritual bath, take a vow (Sankalpa), and perform puja by offering Durva grass, red flowers, modaks, and sweets to Lord Ganesha.
An important rule of this vrat is to avoid moon sighting. Devotees should avoid seeing the moon during the specified periods on May 19 and May 20.
Fasting is observed throughout the day, and the vrat is concluded the next day with Parana on Panchami. Charity and donations are considered highly beneficial on this occasion.
It is believed that observing this vrat with devotion brings success, prosperity, removes obstacles, and promotes spiritual growth.
