Chapter 15: Returning to What Is Essential

Chapter 15 uses the image of a tree with its roots above and branches below. This image shows how life can become tangled when the mind gets caught in temporary attractions. Krishna guides Arjuna to focus on what nourishes the soul rather than what distracts it.

Young people can relate to this through the influence of habits and environments. When attention goes toward things that drain energy, life becomes confusing. When attention goes toward learning, relationships and personal growth, life becomes meaningful.

Krishna assures Arjuna that understanding the true nature of the self brings strength and clarity. It becomes easier to choose long term growth over short term distraction.

Chapter 15 encourages returning to values that support inner stability.
